Referring to the Petition I addressed to your hardship with reference to the Crown Lease of Marine Lot No 184, granted to me by the Governor of Hong Kong, I am now desirous of forwarding to your Lordship a certified copy of a letter written by Lieutenant H. M. Cohnstone of the Royal Engineers, materially bearing upon the question, which certified copy letter I beg to enclose. I received it from my representative in Hong Kong.
I particularly desire to call your Lordship's attention to clause 3 in such letter.
Lieut. Cohnstone was ordered by the Court to set out the line, which he accordingly did, and by his Plan and Report corroborated the line laid down by the Surveyor General.
The Court, however, would not adopt the line of its own specially appointed Surveyor, but declared through M. Ackroyd as Acting Chief Justice...
